Fundraising Friends

Did you know that one of the fundamental pillars of Holy Smokes is fundraising?

Here is a testimony of how Holy Smoke's fundraising has been used. The photo above is (left to right) Grant, Bella, and Jake. This trio met at children's church over 10 years ago and have been friends ever since. They were brought up in a very mission-oriented church and never lacked the opportunity to serve. From a very young age, they were able to travel and serve locally and overseas.

Here is what Bella has to say:

“Growing up at my church, we had a huge emphasis on service and mission work. I can't remember a time when my friends and family were not serving in the church. This has sent me overseas several times and sparked a love for international work in my heart. One of my favorite memories from my youth group years was serving at our annual Winter Banquet. Every year the students wrote and performed a play after we served a catered dinner. While the play was cute, people really came for the food.

If you didn't know, the one and only Big Daddy Dave is my actual father. This means that on banquet weekends I was practically sleeping at the church. Not just me but my friends as well. I have many memories of sitting on the floor of the kitchen eating leftover potatoes and green beans straight from the container after the banquet was over.

While the memories alone were worth it, serving with Holy Smokes made it possible for me to go on 9 local trips and 3 international trips. Missions work is very expensive for anyone but especially for the youth. Because of the programs that Holy Smokes provides, I have been able to serve without the burden or worry of money! Not only this but the bond that comes from serving the Lord together is unbreakable and Holy Smokes makes that happen.”

This is just one of the many stories of how our fundraising mission has been used to bless the community.
